Mrs. Pascale Nakhle is a Lebanese Licensed Clinical Psychologist who has been practicing in the field since 2013. She earned her BA in Psychology in 2010 and MA in Psychology in 2012, both at American University of Beirut. Post to her graduation, Mrs. Nakhle has focused on strengthening her clinical skills in various evidence-based psychotherapy approaches. She was initially drawn to Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), with the emphasis of helping patients identify maladaptive thoughts and develop healthier ways of coping emotionally and behaviorally. Despite her interest in CBT, she took on an eclectic approach as she is a strong believer that psychotherapy treatment should be specifically tailored to meet the needs of every patient. Throughout her trainings, Mrs. Nakhle focused on Motivational Interviewing (MISR – London), Gestalt Therapy (GATLA – Slovenia), Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (Anna Freud National Center for Children and Families – London), Intensive Short Term Psychodynamic Therapy (ISTDP – Jon Frederickson Dubai), Schema Therapy (Supervision Training), Psychodynamic Therapy (Supervision Training), Behavioral Activation (Oxford University) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy for Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (Harvard Medical School). In 2019, she was granted full scholarship for the Harvard Program in Refugee Trauma Certificate (HPRT) at Harvard Medical School.
Mrs. Nakhle has spent the last 7 years teaching Psychology at American University of Beirut and spending most of her time in mental health awareness and prevention sessions, research activities, training activities and clinical work. She has taken part in co-founding and launching an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for patients struggling with Addiction and co-morbid disorders. The program was a unique and new program in the middle east region. She acted as the coordinator and the lead therapist in the group, couple, family and individual therapy sessions. Despite the fact that she feels comfortable working with patients struggling with various mental health disorders, Mrs. Nakhle’s has found a profound interest and reward in working with patients struggling with grief, loss, interpersonal and relationship conflicts, stress, relationship challenges and domestic abuse. Most of her work also involved family and couple counseling. In addition to the clinical work, Mrs. Nakhle has taken part in multiple research activities for addiction disorders, behavioral activation and insomnia.
Throughout her clinical and personal life experiences, Mrs. Nakhle has worked on becoming a well-rounded and fully equipped psychologist competent to handle a holistic, comprehensive and patient-centered treatment plan for her patients. She is committed to investing her energy, knowledge and passion in the service of patients struggling with mental health difficulties. She is a strong believer that investing in therapy and in self-healing is the first step to uncovering emotions of self-love and self-compassion which are the basis of psychological wellbeing and growth.
